A traffic stop in a shopping-centre car park became a request for medical help. ACT Policing says the driver told officers that two passengers had been stabbed and she was taking them to hospital.

The encounter took place around 8.45pm on Friday, 2 October, at Calwell Shopping Centre. Police called for ambulance assistance. Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were taken to hospital with injuries described by the force as not life-threatening.

In its appeal published on Monday, 5 October, ACT Policing said it believed several people had been involved in an altercation, with most gone before officers arrived. Canberra CityNews also reported the appeal. Neither account reviewed here establishes who inflicted the injuries or reports a conviction.

Investigators want to hear from people nearby between 8.30pm and 9pm that Friday, including anyone with relevant dash-camera footage. The official release directs witnesses to Crime Stoppers ACT, quoting 8516863.

The new development is the witness appeal, not a claim that the incident happened today. We have omitted identifying details about the injured teenagers. The illustration is a visual metaphor for witness information, not a reconstruction or police evidence.
