ISHOWCRIME / CRIME STORIES

Privacy policy

Device preferences, hosting, source reporting and your privacy choices on ishowcrime.

Last updated: 4 October 2026. This notice describes the current public edition. Public contact information and provider arrangements are still being finalised.

Operator and contact

Operator: Sahib Singh, publishing as ishowcrime.

Public business contact details are being finalised. This page will be updated with a dedicated address for editorial corrections and privacy requests.

Information used by the site

Your topic and country choices and known-story identifiers personalise your feed. Without device memory, they stay in this browser tab. If you select “remember”, they are stored in localStorage on your device. Your reading position is stored for the tab session. These choices are not sent to an ishowcrime reader-profile database.

Purpose and retention

Device memory is optional and used only for your chosen feed and the count of newly published stories. It remains until you clear it, disable the choice or clear browser storage. Session data ends with the browser session. A small yes/no choice records your device-memory preference. We do not use it for advertising.

Hosting and account access

Site requests pass through hosting and account-access services. Those providers may process network, device and security information, such as IP addresses, request details and authentication data, according to their service arrangements. Reading is public. The publisher area uses ChatGPT account access. We do not copy reader email addresses into an ishowcrime marketing list. Provider log retention, locations and any required transfer safeguards must be confirmed for the public launch configuration.

People mentioned in reporting

Case reporting may refer to people described in public official statements or reputable reporting. Sources are linked, allegations are distinguished from outcomes, and unnecessary private addresses and contact details are omitted. A public source does not eliminate privacy or reporting-restriction obligations. Accuracy, identification and applicable public-interest grounds require case-specific review.

Ads, analytics and communications

The current edition has no AdSense script, behavioural advertising, third-party analytics tracking script, mailing-list signup or public submissions. We count article-page opens into hourly totals by article to rank “Trending on ishowcrime” over the past 24 hours. The count stores no reader identifier, email, IP address, cookie or device fingerprint, and does not identify unique readers. Old count buckets are removed on subsequent article opens after 48 hours. Hosting services still process requests as described above. If those features are introduced, their data use, recipients, retention and any consent requirements must be disclosed before they operate.

Your choices and rights

You can use the controls below to disable or clear device memory. Depending on applicable law, rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent where consent is used. Some rights have conditions or reporting-related exceptions. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about readers.

Complaints

Raise privacy concerns with the operator. In the UK you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office; elsewhere, your local regulator may have jurisdiction.

Your device choices

Keep preferences for this tab, or choose to remember your topics, countries and known-story list across visits. We use this only to personalise your feed and count new stories.
